OUR FOUNDER

Marjorie Nyandoro

My name is Marjorie, and I was born and raised in Zimbabwe. At a young age, I experienced the devastating loss of my father, leaving my mother as a widow with six children - one girl and five boys. Witnessing my mother's struggle to process the death of her beloved husband and the immense responsibility she faced in raising us alone deeply impacted me.

Despite being a hardworking woman, I could see the immense challenges my mother faced in providing for our family. She not only had to cope with the grief of losing her partner but also had to shoulder the burden of single-handedly raising six children. It was through this firsthand experience that I became acutely aware of the significant emotional, financial, and practical difficulties faced by widows and their families.

Inspired by my mother's strength and determination, I made a personal commitment to make a positive difference in the lives of widows, widowers, and their families. I knew that there were countless individuals out there who, like my mother, were struggling to navigate through their grief and rebuild their lives after the loss of a spouse or partner.

With a burning desire to help others in similar situations, I founded the Marjorie Foundation. The foundation's mission is to provide relief, support, and empowerment to those who have experienced the profound loss of a spouse or partner. Drawing from my own experiences and the challenges my mother faced, I wanted to create a safe and nurturing environment where individuals could find solace, guidance, and the necessary resources to heal, grow, and build a brighter future.

The journey of starting the Marjorie Foundation has been a labor of love and a testament to the resilience of the human spirit. Through this foundation, I aim to honor the memory of my late father and support individuals who find themselves in similar circumstances. Together, we can create a community that understands, supports, and uplifts widows, widowers, and their families, providing them with the tools and support they need to overcome challenges, find hope, and thrive.
